Insight & Analysis / How Many EBNE Children are Hispanic?
Outreach and enrollment specialists try to target particular communities where there are high concentrations of uninsured yet eligible children.
In addition to the location of these children—see the county-level estimates here—one of the most common questions we receive is about their race and ethnicity.
As you can see from this graph, Hispanic children make up about one-third of all Colorado children but comprise nearly two-thirds of the eligible but not enrolled population. African Americans make up a small percentage of all Colorado children, and they make up an equally small percentage of those who are eligible but not enrolled in both Medicaid and CHP+.
