The Colorado Health Institute and its Safety Net Advisory Committee (SNAC) are engaged in a learning laboratory called SNAC Labs. The work is focused on Medicaid's Accountable Care Collaborative pilot program in Colorado and its potential as a transformative model of health care, as well as broader access to care issues.

The Colorado Health Access Survey – the CHAS – is the premier source of information on health insurance coverage, access to health care and use of health care services in Colorado. Findings from the 2015 CHAS, released September 1, 2015, give a detailed picture of Colorado’s changing health landscape.

Access to medical care contributes to improved health and a reduced need for more costly medical care. The health care workforce and the safety net are two key aspects of the health care system that help determine if people have access to care.
