September 18, 2014

The U.S. Census Bureau on September 16, 2014 released the annual estimates from the Current Population Survey (CPS) of the number and percentage of Americans who lacked health insurance coverage in calendar year 2013.

Nationally, an estimated 42.0 million Americans, or 13.4 percent of the population, were uninsured for the entire 2013 calendar year.

According to the CPS, an estimated 667,000 Coloradans, or 12.6 percent, were uninsured in 2013.

CHI's fact sheet summarizes the highlights from the release.
