Repeal. Replace. Repair. Rebuild.

All these “re” words are floating around Washington as Congress moves to get rid of the Affordable Care Act (ACA).

The Colorado Health Institute is closely monitoring developments in Congress and researching how federal reforms will affect Colorado. We call our effdort Re:ACA.

A “strike team” of CHI analysts is examining the most pertinent topics and will produce ongoing reports.

The latest brief, published March 16, creates a statistical model to project losses in Medicaid funding and enrollment under the proposal by Congressional Republicans called the American Health Care Act. CHI projects a total loss of $14 billion in federal funding for Colorado Medicaid over the decade between 2020 and 2030. And we find that Colorado would have 600,000 fewer Medicaid enrollees by 2030, most of whom would likely become uninsured.
