Hannah Wear
Hannah Wear is a former research analyst at CHI. She joined CHI in June 2013 as the Colorado College Public Interest Fellow.
Hannah worked at CHI for a year as part of the fellowship program, which places Colorado College students and alumna with state-based non-profits working towards systemic change.
Hannah graduated from Colorado College in May 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology and a minor in Spanish. Her senior sociology thesis used quantitative methodology and regression models to analyze social disparities in blood lead levels, and looked at how social and racial status becomes biologically embedded and geographically patterned. This work arose from her interest in studying health inequities through social processes and the physical environment.
She also pursued this interest during a semester and summer abroad in Thailand, focusing on international sustainable development. After a semester of study, Hannah stayed in Thailand to intern with EarthRights International — a nonprofit organization that defends human rights and the environment. Back at Colorado College, Hannah served as a member of the college’s sustainability committee, co-chair of the environmental club, and peer tutor at the writing center.
Hannah grew up in Pasadena, California, where she graduated from Polytechnic School.
