Jasmine Bains was a research analyst from 2019 to 2021. She specialized in program evaluation, data analysis, and supporting the Metro Denver Partnership for Health cross-sector collaborative.

Before coming to CHI, Jasmine worked at the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment supporting the Colorado Health Assessment and Planning System (CHAPS). She worked on Colorado health indicators, which are county, regional, and state-level data on health, environment, and social topics for local public health agencies to use in their community needs assessments.

Jasmine earned her master’s degree from the Colorado School of Public Health, Anschutz Medical Campus in epidemiology and community/behavioral health. She focused her graduate work on implementing social and economic screenings in specialty care settings, evaluating a screening tool for early identification of developmental needs, and serving as a graduate teaching assistant. Jasmine holds a bachelor’s degree in integrative physiology from the University of Colorado Boulder.

Outside of CHI, she enjoys cooking new foods, taking care of her plants, and spending time both outdoors and in the yoga studio.

I Do This Work Because…I believe health policy is the vehicle through which I can contribute to positive change. Health is integrated in everything that we are and everything that we do. Coming from an immigrant family, I have seen the impacts of health inequities and how that can translate to overall well-being. Through my work, I strive to create a health environment that is more accessible and equitable for all people. CHI allows me to do just that by using a nonpartisan and evidence-based research approach to inform local policy decisions that influence health of Coloradans and their families.
