Health Policy Emergency? Who You Gonna Call?

Is a crime wave engulfing Gotham? Send up the bat signal and call for Batman!

Is an asteroid hurtling toward Earth? Someone get Superman!

Do you have a blue-ribbon commission on health policy that needs a chairman?
Bring in Bill Lindsay.

The Colorado Commission on Affordable Health Care elected Lindsay as its chairman January 12. He  has become Colorado’s go-to guy for health commissions. Lindsay, an executive at Lockton Group, an insurance brokerage, had already been serving as the group’s interim chair. From 2006 to 2008, he led the 208 Commission, the state’s last high-profile task force on health care reform.

Cindy Sovine-Miller was elected vice-chair of the Commission on Affordable Health Care. Sovine-Miller, a lobbyist, had been interim vice chair since the commission started in August 2014.

With the election of officers and contracting for staff, the commission has finally finished its organization tasks and it can start doing research into health costs next month.

CHI is closely tracking the commission. Read about the January meeting, and catch up on previous action on our website’s Commission on Affordable Health Care page. The commission also voted to contract with CHI to provide data and analysis.
