Governor Appoints Michele Lueck to Colorado eHealth Commission
Feb. 17, 2017
Gov. John Hickenlooper has appointed Michele Lueck, CEO of the Colorado Health Institute, to the eHealth Commission, which supports implementation of the state's Health IT strategy.
The commission was created in late 2015 to provide guidance to the eHealth Innovation Office as it works to advance the secure and effective use of health information. The office also is charged with informing future health information technology initiatives.
Lueck will serve as the commission’s member with expertise in health care policy. Her two-year term will expire in February 2019.
“I am honored to help do this work,” she said. “Health IT is really the foundation that will drive transformation of the health care system and help us to reach our goal of improving the health of all Coloradans.”
The Colorado Health Institute is a nonprofit and independent health policy research organization that supports state lawmakers and other decision-makers by providing evidence-based research and analysis. It also offers consulting services to clients across the state working to improve health care systems.
Lueck became the president and CEO of the institute in November 2010, bringing nearly 20 years of health and health care experience. Her work ranged from consulting with leading academic organizations to serving rural health care providers to strategic communications.
She is a member of the Adams State University Board of Trustees, the Kavod Senior Life Board of Directors, and the PACT Council, which directs community engagement activities for the Colorado Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute at the University of Colorado Denver.
Her undergraduate degree is from Harvard and her master’s degree is from the University of Melbourne, Australia.
