The Affordable Care Act aims to make it easier for consumers to shop for health insurance. This has brought new attention to the public lists maintained by insurance plans of their in-network providers, practice locations, and specialties. But both providers and consumers in Colorado are raising concerns that these lists, known as provider directories, are inaccurate and out of date. The Colorado Health Institute sat down with medical providers, insurance carriers and other industry stakeholders to discuss why this might be happening – and what can be done about it.
