This detailed report, prepared for the Colorado Alzheimer's Coordinating Council, uses data from CHI's Health Professions Database Project to describe Colorado's long-term care health workforce. Demographic characteristics such as gender, age, country of birth, linguistic fluency and rural/urban origins are examined. The report looks at where workers are located, including nursing homes, home health agencies, private homes and hospitals. For example, about 60 percent of Colorado’s certified nurse aides worked in a long-term care setting. About 8 percent of registered nurses worked in a long-term care setting.
