The Board of the Trustees of the Colorado Health Institute (CHI) has elected Angelina Salazar, CEO of Grand Junction-based Western Healthcare Alliance, as its newest member. She brings a depth of knowledge and experience in rural health care and the health policy issues affecting western Colorado.

Containing COVID-19 and slowing its spread require accurate testing with timely notification of results. The Metro Denver Partnership for Health (MDPH) today released Guidance for Prioritization of COVID-19 Testing, data-informed recommendations to assist health and social service providers, employers, and policymakers in the metro region as they implement testing strategies with their employees, residents, and clients. 

The safe reopening of schools is a critical step in promoting children’s health and well-being, and metro Denver’s school leaders have new guidance for how to safely approach this challenge. The Metro Denver Partnership for Health (MDPH) today released COVID-19 Strategies for Schools, an evidence-informed guide for the region’s school districts as they plan to reopen.

More than 500,000 Coloradans are projected to join Medicaid by the end of 2020 due to the economic fallout of the coronavirus pandemic. 

The Colorado Health Institute is working with the Metro Denver Partnership for Health to identify and inform strategies and action plans for how to mitigate increased spread of the novel coronavirus. We have produced several guidance documents on testing, containment, and school openings that can be found on the MDPH web page on the CHI website. 

A new resource launched by the Colorado Health Institute, in partnership with The Colorado Health Foundation, offers a new lens on how these factors influence mental health and how they play out in different Colorado communities.

The COVID-19 pandemic and resulting social-distancing requirements have forced a new reality on the health care system. One of the most significant and potentially long-lasting changes may be the rapid adoption of telemedicine as a method of care delivery.

A new interactive map from the Colorado Health Institute pinpoints census tracts where people are likely to have the hardest time staying isolated because of crowded housing, dense neighborhoods, or the nature of their work.
